Next Step: Full Body Resin Molds (02.20.08)
With Shroud coming to an end, all of us at Jetrefilm are preparing to build full resin suits of armor and other exotica that will be prevalent through the Nimyrian warscape in Vangelis. By casting in resin, we will be able to realize many of the high-end fantasy concepts far more affordably and effectively than in metal (steel or aluminum). That is not to say we will not have our fair share of actual steel plate armor; but for many of our insanely ornate panoplies, resin is simply the most manageable medium in which to work and wrestle. Jetrefilm’s very talented Hollywood-class sculptor Ben Chester has already begun minor resin tests on lesser props, but is eager to jump into the complex stuff. Far from the utilitarian suits of plate found in Excalibur and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the armor in Nimyria will be richly conceived and festooned with original ornaments, aiguillettes, glyphs and designer baldrics and scabbards.

It is entirely possible the wardrobe in Vangelis will be so stunningly unique, the entire time/space continuum may implode in a multi-dimensional cataclysm.

So we’ll be as modest as our untamed imaginations will permit.

Still, prepare for the whole time/space collapse-thing.

Vangelis Research & Development (01.19.08)
Those unfamiliar with the merging empires of technology, Internet, visual systems and film may not appreciate the extreme – and the word is extreme – amount of research and development Jetrefilm has and is currently undertaking to execute Vangelis with a new order of innovation, imagination and marketing savvy that we began on Shroud. Literally thousands upon thousands of hours have been spent online, in tutorials, reviewing message boards of industry leading products and services, and experimenting with all we have been able to beg, borrow and buy.

In little over a year that we have been on Shroud, we have absolutely risen to the top of the technology curve with regard to leading edge technology and have accumulated a dangerously competitive comprehension of the future of independent and digital filmmaking. From the top shelf catalog of lenses, revolutionary camera systems, bold new innovations in online marketing and advertising, to emergent solutions for cross-marketing and distribution, data management, optimal bandwidth & drive configuration, post-production pipeline indices and software roundtables, we have been in the deep end of the pool for twelve months.

The evidence will be present on Shroud, but Vangelis will absolutely gleam with our recent enlightenment. So, we want to extend our deep appreciation to our many investors who have patiently empowered us to sort through this modern maze of technology, systems and software.

Building Jetrefilm (01.10.08)
Beginning in July of 2007, we have been slowly assembling software and other technologies in anticipation of the massive filming requirements of Vangelis, particularly with regard to the Red One camera system and its might 4K imaging. With each passing month Jetrefilim has been strategically investing in our new offices, monitors, equipment, sculpture tests, processes and procedures so that once we sell Shroud we can ramp up within a matter of days to full blown pre-production. Working alongside and through the final stages of Shroud’s development, we have built the best production platform we can and are looking forward to pushing the envelope even further when our primary capital for Vangelis arrives.

Had we the same level of infrastructure for Shroud that we have built for Vangelis – wow, would things have gone faster.

We’re so ready to utterly rock and roll.

And Christmas (12.25.08)
Somebody bring me presents.

Vangelis Script Nearly Finished (11.25.07)
The script for Jetrefilm's second film is close to completion. Vangelis involves a small defiant platoon of knights desperately seeking to smuggle an ancient artifact to a mysterious sea to prevent its capture by a creaturely warlock bent on endless war. A parable for the modern age, Vangelis explores the definition and decay of culture when noble virtues are abandoned for convenience, and honor is exchanged for expediency.

Vangelis Pre-Marketing (9.20.07)
Unlike our Shroud marketing, viral marketing for Vangelis will begin before the first frame is ever shot, instead of the last. Consequently, Vangelis will benefit from almost 9 months of marketing (through pre-production, production and post-production) by the time it is released. Additionally, Vangelis will have a full-blown promotional products and apparel campaign for merchandising - I don't know about you, but after spending 9 months on another project, I damn sure want a coffee mug or a t-shirt for the trouble. It'll be fun.

Vangelis Concepts in Full Swing (07.14.07)
Following our vision to create original works born of imagination and artistry, Jetrefilm has commissioned several artists to help us flesh out the world of Nimyria for our second HD feature Vangelis. Each of these very talented artists bring their unique vision to the fantasy realm of Vangelis and afford our very talented designers top-tier artwork from which to build the props and wardrobe for our film.

F/X and Physical Warfare (07.12.07)
Preliminary conversations are beginning with our design partner Element X to discover new, exciting ways of re-inventing classic sword and shield combat. In conjunction with our unique blend of fight choreography, the action in Vangelis is shaping up to be a truly innovative union of authentic medieval combat styles, martial arts and special effects. Jetrefilm has attained a replica of an authentic 14th century combat manual that proves fighting in the Middle Ages consisted of much more than big Hollywood hacking with broadswords and battleaxes. This manual reveals a cruel cleverness to the use of swords, lances and other weapons that would surprise any student of history. Mingled with cutting edge special effects, Vangelis will reveal the truly gruesome effects of the many wicked weapons of the age against other/lesser weapons, shields, armor and the soft flesh of the unprotected. Meaningful but grisly, Vangelis will show the horror of medieval war.

Vangelis Ramps Up (06.15.07)
With Jetrefilm's inaugural western film Shroud ready for preliminary editing, we have begun pre-production our second HD feature, the hyper-action oriented, sword-and-sorcery project Vangelis. Our first units have sold and we are already generating concept art and finding locations.

Swords, Shields & Other War Cast Steel (06.14.07)
Vangelis follows a surviving band of knights in their fugitive hope of smuggling an ancient artifact to a mysterious sea before it can be claimed by a deranged creaturely warlock, who will use it to usher in an era of holocaust. An examination of a kingdom in meltdown, Vangelis examines how formerly great nations collapse when they become depraved. The script is 80% finished and will be available soon here at www.jetrefilm.com.

All Kinds of Action (06.12.07)
Set in the fantasy realm of Nimyria, Vangelis is replete with knights, armor, shields, swords and spears, beautiful oracles, cruel sorcerers, magic, exotic locations and deep conviction. The nine month pre-production will enable Jetrefilm to cast both from the East and West Coasts, train our actors extensively (horseback riding, armored combat, martial arts, fight choreography, medieval weapon training) as well as test the exciting new technology we will be using on this really cool film.

The Challenges of Vangelis (05.26.07)
Set in the mythical kingdom of Nimyria, Vangelis requires an ornate canvass of armor, swords and shields, oracles and knights, horses and henchmen. The logistics of properly preparing two small yet distinct forces is very challenging, so Jetrefilm has recruited artisans, designers, dress makers and fight choreographers from multiple renaissance fairs to help us with the details.

Vangelis Unit No. 1 Sold (05.22.07)
The first $50K units have sold for Jetrefilm's second feature Vangelis. Naturally, we are very pleased with the reception our film has gotten from both our first round and new investors. The interest in our film has been so sudden and forthcoming we are beginning pre-production early to take advantage of the ninety days we can gain in preparing for this new venture.

Knights of Nimyria, LLP (05.10.07)
Jetrefilm has formed our second LLP to handle our second HD feature, the medieval / fantasy film Vangelis. The Knights of Nimyria Limited Liability Partnership will handle the development of this more challenging film as we court bigger financiers. The success of our Ghosts of Saarke business plan has been invaluable in approaching new investors as well as confirming our continued work on our first feature Shroud.

A Camera for Vangelis (03.12.07)
Jetrefilm is seriously looking into the new modular Red One HD camera from RED Digital Cinema Camera System. This camera, should it live up to it claims, will be a remarkable advance for filmmakers wanting to work efficiently and affordably in the exciting world of high-definition video.

Thaden Armory Signs On for Vangelis (03.09.07)
The extreme armor and weapon demands for Vangelis have been accepted by Thaden Armory. Owned and operated by Patrick Thaden, these guys delivered an affordably priced suit of armor for Shroud ahead of schedule and above expectations. We at Jetrefilm are pumped to be working with this great team of designers and armorers again.

Vangelis Enters Scripting Phase (03.08.07)
Jetrefilm Entertainment's second feature length HD film Vangelis is currently in the scripting phase. A medieval fantasy, Vangelis is rich with swords, shields and other war cast steel. A final draft should be completed by the end of May 2007 with investor qualification starting soon thereafter. Once pre-production begins, the principal actors will undergo a battery of weight training, weapon familiarity and choreography, horse riding lessons, dialect and language coaching and extensive wardrobe fittings for the heavy amount of armor and fantasy apparel. The Art Director in me is very happy.
